100 WC- The race was about to begin

I walked into the stadium and I saw people everywhere screaming and shouting. I could tell that most people were excited because they had big smiles on their faces. I walked deeper into the crowd of yelling people and found my position on the track my race was about to begin when… BOOM the gun let out a bang and the race began. I was leading the race until about half way when the Italian girl came running past, but I didn’t want to give up so I bolted the rest of the way and I passed the Italian girl and then won the race. YES!!! GOLD!!!

Year 5 Camp

Year 5 Camp Anglesea
REFLECTION
When my Mum dropped me off at camp I was one of the first people there so I just waited a little while until more and more people started to arrive. Then after about half of the year 5 students were there we went inside the hall and waited for the rest of the year 5’s. When I poked my head out of the hall I saw my friends and started running then after the tour we got straight into the activities.
Day 1:
The first activity that our group did was fishing, so we went over to the bridges and dropped our lines in. Our second activity was bush art, so we went up into the bush to collect some bark and other things that we needed to create our picture. Everyone was excited about the next activity because we had……….. CANOES, when we had gotten our life jackets on, we grabbed a partner and hopped into a canoe. Our last activity was the bush walk and our teacher Mr Hindson had a competition to see who could find the biggest leaf. After all of the activities we walked back to camp and we had a little bit of free time before dinner. Then we went to bed and I was in a cabin with my best friends Ella, Laura and Scout.

Day 2:
In the morning we got up, got dressed and went over to the dining room to have breakfast. After breakfast we had some more activities to do so we got into our groups and got ready to have some fun! Our first activity was initiatives; we had to work as a team to complete the challenges that were set for us. The second activity was high ropes and it was an obstacle course that was eight metres high, when I started to climb I got really scared because I discovered that I was afraid of heights. But it was fun. Our next activity was bike riding and we rode into the bush and then along the bridges leading back to camp. Our last activity was rock climbing and I was in a three with Ella and Laura, it was really fun climbing to the top because you got to touch a toy animal. After the rotations we had dinner and went back to our cabins to freshen up for the DISCO!!!!!
Day 3:
In the morning my cabin woke up and we were so tired from the disco last night but it was the last day of camp so we could have a sleep when we get home. After breakfast everyone was really excited for the last day of camp and guess what we did…yep more rotations. Our group’s first rotation was archery and it was awesome, we actually had a real bow and arrow to shot at a target and I got it on the blue. Our second activity was low ropes and it was kind of like the low version of the high ropes course but it had more challenges because it was on the ground. Next we got to do bush cooking and we made damper but not many people actually liked there food but I loved it and all of my friends in my group did to. Our final activity was the flying fox and we had to sit in a harnessed chair and when we got to the bottom our friends had to pull us back up the hill. After everyone had finished the rotations we had a BBQ lunch to finish up camp. After everyone was finished, it was time to go home so everyone went and got their things and went out the front of camp to wait for their parents.

The thing that took me out of my comfort zone was probably be the high ropes because I had never been that high before and I was really scared.
At the start of camp I set my self some personal goals and I am most proud myself for completing those goals and one of them were finishing the high ropes.
My favourite thing at camp would be the whole experience because I just loved the whole feeling of being with my friends having a fantastic time.
The food at camp was really nice and I loved the schnitzel that Rolf cooked on the first night.
I would probably give camp 9 ½ flying foxes out of 10. Because they could have let us be more free and independent.

Mrs Rayson’s 112 Word Challange

“Help” I screamed, I was in a castle in the middle of the ocean and my only way out was to jump. The island that the castle was resting on was quickly collapsing into the water and I was stuck in the dungeons with rusty old hand cuffs around my wrists. The owners of the castle had already made their way to the bottom and jumped on a boat to get to safety. They were paddling away SMILING; Watching the HORROR unravel with excitement. “What did I do wrong” I wondered, I was still thinking about the idea of jumping. I dived into the deep sea and struggled to reach the surface.

The Netball Game

THE NETBALL GAME
“Laura, Laura!” Kate shouted “Ok, ok I can hear you” responded Laura. As the girls started to wake up their mum Cathy was downstairs cooking breakfast. Their mum was a very good cook and she was hoping to become a chef, but that all changed when she got married. When the girls finally woke up completely, they ran down the stairs as fast as they could because they could smell something cooking in the kitchen. After a yummy breakfast of bacon and eggs Kate slowly walked up the stairs to her room while Laura zoomed past her running. Both girls were supper excited because it was their first netball game for Torquay Tigers.

On the way to the netball courts, Cathy also had to pick up Ella and she was Kate and Laura’s best friend! The girls started screaming after they picked up Ella because they were almost there, they were almost ready to play their first netball game. “OMG” Ella said slowly, they all had just walked onto the courts and there were a lot of people.

After a quick warm up the girls went over to their coach Sarah and she gave them their positions for the game. When it was time to start Cathy stood against the fence to watch. It was a fantastic first quarter, Ella played wing defence (WD) and got some intercepts, Laura played center (C) and she helped Kate who was goal attack (GA) get some goals for their team.

When it was three quarter time the girls were a little bit tired, but still had lots of energy left. In the last quarter Kate played goal defence (GD), Laura played wing attack (WA) and Ella played goal shooter (GS). In the last two minutes of the game Ella scored two goals and that made them win.

The girls celebrated, but when they went down to the creek someone crept up behind them and tied them to a tree. Not long after the girls were face to face with a netball and they were staring at it weirdly. Then the ball started to talk, the girls started to scream, but the ball disappeared and the boy was standing there. “Please, please can you let us go” sobbed Laura, the boy was almost convinced when Ella started to cry. The boy didn’t know what to do, and then he finally made up his mind and let the girls go.

Kate, Ella and Laura sprinted back to Cathy. She was almost leaving and the girls didn’t want to walk home in their netball dresses because it turned out to be a cooled day. The girls finally made it to their mum in time and when Ella reached Cathy, she spotted her mum Helena and ran off. Meanwhile back down at the creek the young boy was standing be side the tree worrying about how he let the girls go. Then after about two minutes a ball was rolling towards him then he realized that it was his boss, so he started sprinting and soon he had disappeared into the crowd of people. The ball was rolling around wondering where the girls were. Then he saw the ropes around the tree and figured that they had escaped.

The ball was wondering around looking for them, trying not to get seen by people. Then when he was surrounded by some other netballs someone picked him up and took all of the air out of him. So now he was flat. Back down at Kate and Laura’s house they were talking about how they were kidnapped by a ball and then Laura said “I promise that I will never go down to that creek again” “Me to” replied Kate “Me to”

100 Word Challange-5 words

It was a dark night at the Valarie’s house and Meg was about to hop into bed. She skipped her way to her bedroom with her night gown bobbing up and down. She reached for her blankets, slid her foot under the covers and lay down. Then when she was about to close her eyes she heard a noise, the noise was terrifying but she managed to block it out of her mind and fall asleep. In the middle of the night Meg woke up and she heard the noise again. Then out popped her little sister and she was holding a microphone making spooky noises.

• I visited Polly in Year 5, Braishfield Primary and I said that she did an amazing job with her story and describing the events she wrote about.

• I visited Lily in year 4C: High Lawn Primary School and I said that she really described the events in her story and that is what made it so interesting.

BTN

“Guess what!” A school is learning maths and science through soccer, isn’t that crazy! I think that it is a little bit … weird how you go to this school and learn through soccer. But I guess it is their choice. I personally think that you need the proper education because if you are learning the preferred way your can learn a hep more, while if you learn through soccer you don’t learn all about maths or science you pretty much just learn about how it relates to soccer. When I was watching this clip I wondered why peoples parents would sign there child up to go to school and learn about science and maths through soccer? I also wondered things like what kind of homework would you get and if it actually teaches you things. At our school we play sport and games here and there but we don’t pick a sport and learn maths or science through it, it’s just, you know…weird. But yet again they can do what they want. I am just saying my opinion.
If you agree or disagree with my opinion please leave me a comment telling me what you think about this story.

MOVIE MADNESS!

COMPARING CHARACTERS

SNOWY: I really enjoyed Snowy because he was very clever for a dog and he also made sure that Tin Tin wasn’t in trouble.

TIN TIN: I was also really excited about Tin Tin because he was adventurous and sneaky; he also was a great fighter.

HADICK: When Hadick was talking he was very clever and in some parts if the movie he had a great imagination.

CHARACTER INTERVIEW
TIN TIN-
• Did you enjoy working with the other characters, why?
• Was it hard to work with the man who played Hadick, why?
• Did you like the main events in the story, why?
• What was the funniest part you had to do in the movie?
• Did you enjoy acting out you characters personality?

HOLLYWOOD HOTSHOT
TIN TIN TWO, WHERE IS HADICK?
In my new movie the bad guys are after Hadick again but this time it is not for secrets it’s for revenge, because Hadick stole their main prize.

HITS AND MISSES.
• I absolutely loved all of the adventure in the movie, there was fighting, mysteries and lots more excitement.
• I found it a little bit annoying how there was a big event happening and then the next on was not exciting at all because I really love the excitement in movies and it is what keeps me watching.
• It was really cool when they were in the desert and Hadick was imagining that he was the captain of the ship sailing in the ocean.

CRITICT CORNER
The movie was all about how Tin Tin brought a model of an old ship, he then discovers that there is a riddle behind the boat and a clue is hidden in each model of the boat. There are only three models of the boat so there are three clues, but someone else is trying to solve the riddle so who will find all three clues first. Overall I give this movie 8 ½ popcorn boxes out of 10.

100 Word Challange-Letter To Fatimata

Dear Fatimata,
I can’t imagine how hard that would be for you, to go through all of that pain and stress to keep your family healthy. It really makes me think about how lucky I am to have what I have. I also feel really sorry for you because you have not heard from your husband for six months, I can’t think of not seeing my family for six whole months. I hope that World Vision can keep supporting you throughout your lives so that you can become one of the happy families in your country.

207 Word Challange.

It was a rainy night over at my house and all you could hear was the dripping from the gutter on the roof. By now everyone had gone to bed and it was dark to every corner of the room. Then after a while I heard a noise so I jumped out of bed and ran to my Mother’s room and told her my story but then “Go to your room” my Mother said so I walked to my room trying not to make a noise. Then, I was almost at my room and I heard the noise again so I ran the rest of the way. The next day I woke up to find everyone at the table tired and half asleep but not my brother. “I wonder why” I said to myself as I walked to join my family at the table. After a yummy breakfast of bacon and eggs I went back to my room and lay on my bed, and then my little brother came in and asked why everyone was half asleep so I told him that there was a noise in the middle of the night. Then after all of this time he said that it might have been him snoring.
